Laptop stuck at startup screen..until i press escape and enter?

Recently a problem has started. when i start my laptop..it gets stuck at the dell boot screen indefinitely...but when i press escape a blank screen shows with a cursor..now when i press enter...windows loads. i am able to use my laptop using this technique but i feel there is something wrong..

So last night I was driving and I reached a four-way intersection. I made a complete stop except my car was past the limit line. On the right side, there was a police car, who I'm sure could've seen me commit that violation but he didn't pull me over. I'm sort of paranoid, I'm never gonna stop beyond the limit line again but would he mail me a ticket or do you think he just didn't care since it was such a minor violation?

Okay, I was using my little sisters camera when all of a sudden it went blank, like the back light was still on but no picture. So I thought it went dead, so I went and put it on charge. It still wouldn't come on. Then I took out the battery then put it back in where the back light is off. Still won't come on. I still have it on charge but I have no clue what to do. Help!! How do I build my confidence while driving?

I'm 28 and am just learning to drive. I have zero confidence and every time I make a mistake and my husband points in out it just gets worse!!! I know all the rules of the road by heart but as soon as I get behind the wheel I draw a blank. I'm extremely discouraged, frustrated and tired of trying and just wanna quit. Unfortunately, my husband won't let me and all I wanna do is punch him in the face (not literally, of course) I just keep telling myself how much I suck at driving. Yesterday my friend and I were supposed to go to the movies but she didn't really want to go so I was like okay we could drive around until we figure out something to do. So we decided to drive downtown and when I was driving I went through one light and it was green and as I was driving through the next one the light turned yellow (I think I just crossed over the crosswalk into the intersection) as I was going through it and I noticed there was a camera. Do you think I will get a ticket or should I be fine? I know it takes a week or 2 for it to arrive and I'm freaking out.

Hey guys I have undiagnosed dermatillomania and it's starting to drive me insane, I can't do anything without picking at my skin, majority of the time it's on the heels of my feet or around my cuticles of my fingers and thumbs. Why are my photos blank (Windows Vista)?

I just imported some photos onto my computer today. I could see the photos fine. Then I proceeded to edit my photos in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I was also running a Norton 360 scan at the same time. When my Norton scan ended, some of my photos were showing up blank/white. I closed Picture Manager without saving and went to see if my photo thumbnails were showing up in my Photos folder. They were still blank so I restarted my computer in hopes of it fixing itself. When my computer restarted, the photos were still coming up blank. I really need these photos and would like to recover them. The files are still there, they just look like I took a picture of a white abyss. My Norton 360 scan cleaned up Windows Temporary Files, and I believe this may have to do with why my photos messed up. Please help.

Going to the Nail Salon? Cuticles?

okay...so im about to go get my nails done with my cousins and hardly ever get my nails done! im 13 and have probably only gone like 5 times ever. and whenever ive gone my sis has been with me and she tells the lady not to cut my cuticle, but shes not going with me now.... so what exactly happens when you cut your cuticle. Does it hurt? should i tell the lady not to or just keep my mouth shut? I know that it can cause infection and stuff but i really have no idea what its like! ive gotten it pushed back before but never cut!! Help please!

Bruise on big toe cuticle is TURQUOISE! Is this normal?

No joke! 3 weeks ago, I got rid of a couch. On the bottom were these wooden blocks you had to twist on and off to keep it up. As I was turning one, i didn't know it was on the edge of the screw and it fell and landed on my right toe. The block weighed about 1-2 lbs. My toe was throbbing, swollen, and I had orange nail polish on. And when I removed the nail polish, it came off with blood on it. My nail was bruised and at the cuticle was black and blue. As time went on, it turned to turquoise. It doesn't hurt but is that normal?

I like to get a nice amout of polish on the brush, not too much but not too little. And then i put it on... but when i put it on i fan the brush out to where it covers most of the nail. It doesnt leave as many streaks. Good luck with your nail polish!

Will my big toenail grow back from being pulled off?

I was wearing a new pair of shoes to work and after I got home, my feet became very sore. So because of this, about 2 weeks later my toenail began to detach itself from the nail bed. I got so frustrated from the feeling of it being loose, that I pulled it off myself using a pair of nippers. I'm afraid I damaged the cuticle or root that it may not grow back. I just hit a large bump with my car, help/advice?

Okay so I was driving in the country when out of nowhere I hit a large bump at an intersection going about 55 or 60. The car was shaken, and we immediately stopped. After checking it over, there were minor scrapes on the left and right undersides of the cars edge as well as far under the hood area (I could feel the scrapes by simply reaching my arm under and feeling. I compared it to my parents older vehicle and it seems that it has a fair amount of scrapes on the underside of its hood too (from gradual everyday wear and tare I assume). Anyway, I drove it home and it seemed to have no issues, it accelerated, cornered, and braked fine...no "check engine" lights were on or anything either...it is a new car and I would really love to know if I should be checking anything on my own, assume its alright, or what. I will of course check it for leaks in the morning...what does the undercarriage of a typical car consist of, and material/repair-wise, should I worry about rust (i.e. are they plastic or metal parts under there) and if so, what is the general cost of some of the possible damages? Like I said, aside from the scratches it seems fine. Just hoping to get a little more insight...possibly from someone who has done something like this before...I have never had this happen before and has put the fear of god in me to never hurt it again. Lets just say that it is a rather nice and semi-expensive car, to be making all this hype up. Any help is appreciated, thank you so much in advance. Ticket from 6 years ago?

I got a ticket back when I was 17 for eluding a police officer. Basically I was making a turn and the cop signaled me to go so I did. When I was making a turn he had told me to stop when I was in the middle of the intersection. I freaked out and went but pulled over to the side right by him. He got to my car and yelled at me and wrote me up a ticket for evading and eluding him. My Dad went to court with me and I told my story and the cop told the judge he did it for my safety but no one was around except for the cop, his partner and I. After I was getting yelled at, his partner said that he didn't think I did anything wrong and was watching the whole thing happen.I also asked him if another car was coming and he said no cars where coming.I then proceeded to tell his partner that I thought this was all awkward since I had just broken up with my boyfriend that morning who is also a cop. I told him who he was and asked if he knew him. He tells me that the officer that is giving me the ticket and my ex are friends!!! I lost the case because my father told me to just plead guilty since I was a minor and now I have this ticket. How long will it stay on my record??�

It's ONLY B. You NEVER turn without checking traffic, although I guess technically you may but only if you are stupid. Also traffic shouldn't really be IN the intersection so C doesn't really apply. IF traffic was really in the intersection then you wait for it to clear the intersection. People tend to misunderstand the term. You are supposed to be AT the intersection, if you are IN the intersection that means you are in the middle of it.

Can I keep the stamped pages of my US Passport when I renew it?

I have some apprehensions about a possible red light camera to ticket?

Ok so about 12 days ago I ran a red light. Of course, its one of only a handful of intersections in my city (Tucson, Arizona) to have cameras installed. I don't even have my license, but I have to drive to school, and in my defense there was a car really close behind me and it was a short yellow, if I thought I had a chance to safely stop I would have. But anyway, I'm almost positive I wasn't fully in the intersection when the light changed, but I never saw a flash. Since I commuted to try and catch the light, I was most certainly speeding as well. And its been almost two weeks to the day. The truck I was driving is in my moms name, so they'll have to compare a picture of me to a picture of a female, so I'm not sure what that means. I've done a little bit of searching and found that I never even have to respond since the ticket won't be personally served, but then if they decide to actual serve me I'm screwed. And also, can my mom just say it was her? She got a ticket 2 or 3 years ago and went to traffic school so I'm not sure if she's eligible. I know I screwed up and wasn't a responsible driver and all that, for lack of a better term I've been shitting myself for since that morning.

Printer won't print photos?

i have an HP photosmart c4280 and a lenovo t400 laptop. when i plug the memory card into the printer it prints the photos onto the HP photo paper but when i try to select the photos and print from my computer the paper just comes out blank and it sometimes it cuts off the pictures when i select from the printer directly. please help, thanks

Ok well about a week and a half ago I got a few bumps on my arm that I thought were poison ivy. Then I got 2 on my D***. Then I had some come up around my wrist and now around my cuticles of my fingers. WTF. Ive never had anything like this before. How can I repair/reinstall windows xp when my comp won't recognize my cd drive?

Yesterday I was trying to burn a DVD and got a few error messages from the program I was using. I tried using a different program and once I had the DVD setup and went to burn it my cd/DVD drive was not there. Looked in "my computer" and it didn't show up there either. Tried ejecting the blank DVD but it wouldn't open. I tried doing a system restore to a week before this problem occurred but it froze halfway through. After about 2 hours I shut the computer down. Now when I restart the computer it makes it to the windows loading screen then goes to a bsod stop error message. I'm trying to repair/reinstall windows(xp) by going to the boot menu when I first turn on computer and having it boot from cd drive before hard drive but it's saying boot device not available. Any help or information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Black nail cuticle after injury?

hey guys/girls..i just had an accident almost a month ago and had to get stitches on my right hand index finger just a little above the bottom part of the nail or cuticle(i don't know exactly what they call it)...anyways the stitches are removed but after a few days of removal, the cuticle skin just separated from the nail and now, almost a month after the accident, the nail looks a bit black/grey just beneath the cuticle skin but only on the right side of the nail where the injury happened...and even my nail feels weak..am i gonna lose my nail? is this permanent? what do i do..i am scared..will it heal? any medications? pls help..

So im just missing the shortcuts/icons, I presume that my registry has been loaded (through System Restore) to default, So i tried a different restore point and that didn't work either. False nails and lack of vitamin D. What is causing my onycholysis?

I have been wearing false nails for about 4 months and have recently been diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency. Now I have noticed that my left pinky fingernail is separating from the nail bed at the left side of my nail and the cuticle is receding! I am a hair stylist and my hands are in water a lot; I have read that this probably is not helping the matter. First I will tell you I am a HUGE worrier/OCD about death/hypochondriac. This morning I was cleaning out my pantry and I dropped a full can of juice on my big toe/toenail. The pain was horrible and burned!!! I tried to ice it but that burned worse so I just kept on going and five hours later I am finally looking at my toe--it still hurts, burns, stiff to bend but can wiggle it, and a lot of pain! Red Vertical Lines on Computer Screen?

Hello everyone, Well recently (well today) my computer was left on overnight and I wake up today with a blank black screen So I took out the battery from my laptop because there was no way to shut it off (bad I know) well I came back today home and turned on my laptop only to get vertical red lines on my screen. I turned my laptop off again and turned again and went into safe mode where there was nothing I knew what to do, Then I restarted my computer and I was met with the Blue Screen of death so I go back into safe mode where I'm typing this, when I turn on my computer I get my Vaio message... then instantly I get 3 red stripes going vertical... and I can only boot into safe mode because If I go regular mode, I'm either met by a blank screen or by a BSOD (Blue screen of death... Accident with no insurance? plase help!?

Today about 2 hours ago, I accidentally backed into someone in an intersection. I'm 15 and i have my learners permit and my mom was in the passenger seat. We pulled over, and for some reason my mom starts crying and says she's going to get her lisence suspended for a year. Unbeknownst to me, she hadn't payed our insurance company in 2 months. So at the time we dont have insurance. It only made a minor crack in the plastic piece above the grill, but the police pulled up so we gave our old insurance card to them. What is going to happen when they find out we don't have insurance? We live in Tennessee if that helps.

I have some weird, brownish/black/purple (whatever) lines down some of my nails. Okay, so on Saturday I did the Organix Keratin 30 Treatment. If any of you have tried it, you know your supposed to blow dry your hair straight then straighten it to seal the cuticle. I have never blow dried my hair straight before, so it was a frizzy hot mess. I straightened it and it didn't look any different then when I normally straighten it. I didn't know how much product to put in my hair because all the box said was "do not saturate hair" so I didn't put very much (I still have 3/4 of the bottle left). I washed it out today, and my hair is just as curly as it usually is. If I try to do the Organix treatment again today with the rest of the bottle, do you think my hair will fall out or something? And should I use the rest of the bottle (3/4 left)? And do you think it would work better if instead of blow drying my hair straight, if I just blow dried it then straightened it really good?

Why would a different law enforcment agency (different city) be in a different jurisdiction?

I was driving home in Los Angeles' jurisdiction and I saw glendale PD driving through the intersection with sirens on. Funeral Procession road rules?

Today I stopped at a 3 way intersection and in front of me turning right through a yield was a funeral procession. I knew to stop and wait to show respect, but I may have accidentally cut into the end of it. Why is my gadgets on my iGoogle blank and not working?

How do i get glass out of my foot?

so i steped on a REALLY REALLY small fragment of glass and its in there pretty deep. Ive tried removing it with tweezers and cuticle clippers ive soaked my foot with salt everything i can think of to get it out. it is very painful to walk on. Plz dont tell me to go to the doctor because the clinic is closed here and im pretty sure my friendly ER would be a little ticked if i took up there time for a sliver. my problem is that this has happend to me before (i think) and ended up needing surgery on my foot. (i had a small little bump on my foot my doctor thinks was cuz i steped on something and upon cutting my foot open found NOTHING) i will be sooo mad if i go to the doctors and they want me to go through surgery AGAIN on the same foot just under my incision so i can sit in a wheel chair for another 5 weeks . . any suggestions to keep me from being butchered again would be nice!!!

Disorderly Conduct: Obstructing Traffic?

I was arrested and held overnight in NY for disorderly conduct. It was 3:30 in the morning, and I was walking home. Yes, I was jaywalking, basically walking in the road, but there was no cars around. A cop was at the intersection up the street, and when he road down, I was clearly out of his way, albeit still in the road. He pulled up to me, was very rude, telling me to get out the road, etc, and I was rude back, I mean he's on my payroll, I pay taxes, he shouldn't harass me. I even asked him if he would rather I move to the sidewalk as we talked. They let me go, and I was on the sidewalk walking away, pissed off, and so I flipped them off. They got back out, and then arrested me for Disorderly conduct Section 5: Obstructing vehicular, or pedestrian traffic. Is this right? There was no traffic around, except for the cop that I clearly moved out of the way for. Just down the road is all the bars too, there's 100s of people "obstructing traffic, drunk, doing whatever" Do i Have a defense?

First off I get acrylic nails. Last week I hit my middle finger nail lightly (seriously light) and it bent back almost completely. It started bleeding. It is good to stop behind the line if there are pedestrians crossing or close to crossing. But most people stop in the place where they can se the best. Cops don't really inforce this rule, at least where I live they don't. Just try not to block traffic or pedestrian crossings.

I have blood collected under the skin at the base (above the cuticle) of my big toe, Anyone see this before?

I have had a toenail fungus for several years. It has made my nails thick and yellow, but nothing that wasn't manageable. About a month ago I noticed that at the base of my toenail, above the cuticle, was a purplish color spanning the entire base of the nail. It looked like blood, but I had not injured my toe at any time, plus there was very little or no pain. It ended up that the entire nail came off (which I have done before - fungus related) and now I can see that what is at the base of my toenail is red. Very red. It is blood, under the skin, but is not going away. It goes from the base of the nail by the cuticle to about 1/16th inch up the nail (or toe actually). I bumped that area of my toe (minus the nail) on an object and it bled quite a bit, but stopped. The area has not changed color or shape since then. Help? Anyone know anything about this? Thanks!

I am a childcare worker of 10 years. In all my experience, I've never had an issue continue like this. I've tried every trick I know... and nothing works with this child. Infected cuticle/hangnail advice please?

A few days ago, my thumb nail ripped to the side and tore into the cuticle on its side. The next day it hurt to put pressure on it, and the day after that I noticed that a tiny amount of pus could be squeezed out. I soaked it in warm salt water and held a tea bag over it for a while then put neosporin on it with a bandaid. Its much better today and I will repeat the process tonight, but how long should it take to solve the problem? If it improves, do I still need medical attention?

Islands of Adventure: WWOHP?

I will be going to the park on July 11th most likely...or the 12th depending on travel plans. I have never been to Universal Studios so I don't really know what I'm doing =). So I guess I am only gonna get a ticket for Island of Adventure b/c really what I want to see is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. My question is what/how many rides are at the WWOHP? What the best and is there anything I should steer clear of? And what about the rest of that park, not including WWOHP? What other rides should I definately wait in line for? I would start off by wearing mascara and you could wear just a bronze/golden color on your lids, its very easy and looks good on everyone! And the nails you are talking about are called a french manicure, you can get it painted on your nails or get fake nails applied at a salon. Okay me and my boyfriend have been dating for a month. Ive noticed some things that are strange and wanted someone elses input on it. Ok..here goes.. There are times each day when i txt him and he doesnt respond for an hour or more. Usually his responses are friendly and short.. he does say i love you and that he misses me. His lengthy sweet txt happen at night... hardly ever in the daytime. He only comes to see me on my lunch break which is at 2am and on my days off but again he mostly comes at night. When his phone rings when we are together he ignores it and hardly ever answers his phone when we are together. We went to the bar together the other night and he left me there saying he had to go pick up a friend and would be right back.. well he never came back and instead met me out at our spot at the lake. He says he loves me and wants to spend the rest of his life with me but he has stood me up so many times always with some excuse. Ive talked to mutual friends of ours and theyve all told me he does NOT have another girlfriend, that hes not that way and that hes NOT dealing drugs.. lol I had to ask.. hes NOT married and hes NOT gay.... ive asked alot of questions lol... and I know at least one of these friends is telling the truth because hes been a very good friend of mine for a while and has never lied to me.. so my question is this... what the hell is going on??
