Will my big toenail grow back?

My big toenail has stopped growing, got infected and is starting to fall off. The cuticle seems to be missing too. The nail also started to turn yellow, but is not thick. It seems to be peeling. I went to the doctor and they prescribed me many different antibiotics and they didn't work for the infection. My toe has been like this for the past 4 months. What can i do do help the nail? and when/if it falls off, will it grow back?
