IPod Nano is giving me a white screen?

It's the nano without the video camera but the same look. I've had it for only about 3-4 years and whenever I turn it on, it gives me a blank screen. I charged it, then it was fine. Went to turn it on again today (fully charged) and boom, it happened again. I've tried holding down the center button/ menu and it does nothing... still gives me a blank white screen. I've switched the button from white to orange and back to white again... nothing happens. HELP!
